Adela Frăsineanu received her first violin lessons at the age of seven at the Music School in Nordhausen. She then became a junior student at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar, the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock. In 2008 she moved to the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where she was taught by Igor Ozim, before graduating in January 2011 with honours. This was followed by a master’s degree with Benjamin Schmid, also in Salzburg, as well as taking part in numerous masterclasses, including with Wolfgang Marschner, Zakhar Bron, Roman Nodel, Rainer Kussmaul, Ana Chumachenco and the Artemis Quartet.

She has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions, including first prize in both solo and chamber performance at the Jugend musiziert Competition in 2004. The same year she won first prize at the International Queen Sophie Charlotte Competition for Violin in Mirow. As part of the piano trio Pia Vioce, she received first prize at the Deutsche Bahn Competition for young musicians in 2005 and at the International Youth Chamber Music Competition in Interlaken. In 2009 she was also awarded first prize at the 16th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach.

Concert tours with various chamber music ensembles have led Adela Frăsineanu to Japan, China, Poland, Spain, Finland and Switzerland. She has also appeared as an orchestral musician with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Camerata Salzburg, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Since September 2014 Adela Frăsineanu has been a member of the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera.collapse
